[[Medical]]'s staff is made up of Medical Interns, Medical Doctors, Paramedics and Chemists. [[Medical]] is run by the Chief Medical Officer.

Right now, medbay is divided into three different sets of care, with an optional fourth. These are Medical, Chemical, Surgery, and optionally Psychology.

Through careful control and knowledge, chemists keep the medbay stocked with life-saving treatments tailored to every emergency.

A typical shift for a chemist begins with preparation—stocking the dispensers, organizing reagents, and producing essential meds like bicardine, kelotane, and anti-toxins to ensure medbay is ready for incoming patients. Beyond basic supply, many chemists choose to specialize, focusing on advanced treatments such as high-strength brute mixes or regenerative burn cocktails that combine multiple reagents for faster, more efficient healing. Coordination is key; staying in touch with other chemists prevents redundant work, while regular updates to the Chief Medical Officer help prioritize the most needed compounds. Surgery on Starlight Station is a precise, multi-step process that allows trained surgeons to repair serious internal injuries, remove foreign objects, or even enhance crewmates with cybernetic upgrades. Each procedure follows a specific sequence using dedicated surgical tools like scalpels, retractors, hemostats, and saws, with timing and order being critical for success. Surgeons must first anesthetize the patient and then carefully open the affected area, addressing damaged organs, fractures, or installing augmentations as needed. Advanced surgeries may involve organ replacement, limb reconstruction, or implanting synthetic enhancements, requiring coordination with robotics or science departments. Successful operations depend on a sterile environment, proper tool use, and close monitoring of the patient’s vitals throughout the procedure.

While also equipped with mechanical healing tools, the psychologist contributes to the station’s well-being by fostering connection, introspection, and character development. Sessions may take place in the privacy of their office or during casual conversations, depending on the crewmate’s comfort level.
